Two New Cd's Released October 28th 2014!

Excited to announce the release of not one, but TWO new cd's! 'Hear Me Calling' is a solo acoustic based release featuring Nathan on various acoustic guitars, and a few with his Washboard electric guitar.

'Natural Born That Way' is an album that features Nathan James with his band the Rhythm Scratchers, and also special guests Carl Sonny Leyland on piano and Big Jon Atkinson on guitar.

Both are released on the Sacred Cat Recording label. The official release date is October 28th with the press, but you can pick them both up at any show. Places to purchase cd's and downloads online will be announced soon.

Grammy Nominated and Blues Award Winner! May 2014

Back in late December of 2012, I had the extreme honor to be asked to play on the live recording 'Remembering Little Walter' to back a cast of renowned harmonica players including: Charlie Musselwhite, Billy Boy Arnold, Sugar Ray Norcia, James Harman, and Mark Hummel! I was also thrilled to be playing guitar alongside guitar great Little Charlie Baty!...Well as it turns out, this album recorded in San Diego at Anthology, was released on Blind Pig was nominated for a Grammy Award for best blues album for the 56th annual show that was held on January 26th, 2014.

Although it didn't win a Grammy, it was nominated and then won two Blues Awards in May of this year in Memphis TN. One was for the Traditional Blues Album of the Year, and the other was for overall Album of the Year. Such an honor to be in this company!

Calm Before the Storm! Fall 2013

Enjoying a mellow last week of Summer with just a few gigs. The calm before the storm before hitting the road for most of the entire Fall! First little tour is with the James Harman band, playing the Sin City Soul fest in Vegas on Sep 17th, then to the Bay area for several shows...

After that off to Spain for several festivals before flying to Finland and Sweden for a tour with some of the finest musicians anywhere including: Tomi Leino, Mikko Peltola, Lars Nasman...Home around October 27 then off to a grand finale in Switzerland where the Rhythm Scratchers meet up w/ the James Harman band for the Lucerne Fest on Nov 14-17!

Spring Tour 2013 in Denmark, Italy and Holland!

In Denmark right now for a Spring tour playing solo and with various Danish musicians, while mixing the California Vol. 3 album by Peder Nande. We made the recordings in Oceanside Ca in 2010 with James Harman producing, featuring guests such as Junior Watson, Carl Sonny Leyland, Archie Thompson and Jonny Vaiu.

After Denamark I'll be heading to Italy to play some shows with Franco Limido and also featuring Veronica Sbergia as a guest on some.

Then the grand finale will be playing at the famed Moulin Blues Festival in Ospel Holland, where the Rhythm Scratchers will be flying in to meet me!
